The project entails with increasing awareness for motorists in school and playground zones. There will be 48 traffic sign sleeves installed. The sleeves will be installed around all school and playground zone signs.

Two solar traffic radar devices will also be purchased, and local crosswalks in school areas will be repainted with different coloured paint in order to bring attention to them.

Strathmore cemetery expansion

The Strathmore cemetery is located at 160 Westridge Road. In 2017 the town began preparing a cemetery master plan which also included plans for future expansion. During the Feb. 21 meeting of town council, staff unveiled a number of plans for future expansion of the cemetery.

In 2017 the council approved $15,000 for the development of the master plan for the cemetery.

The first phase of the plan includes a memorial wall for unmarked graves, a columbaria plaza in the north east corner, tree planting, wayfinding near the entry, formal divisions between the main cemetery and the Catholic section through a pedestrian pathway, and seating areas along with a number of visual improvements that include washroom facilities.

The plan is divided into three phases, the second and third phases are expansions to the west and to the east. Town council approved the cemetery master plan.
