Enjoy a classic miracle in Rosebud

Enjoy the classic heartwarming tale of Kris Kringle spreading goodwill in modern day this season as Rosebud Theatre presents Miracle on 34th Street. The play is adapted by Caleb Marshall with Erin Keating from the classic story by Valentine Davies. Miracle on 34th Street is running at the Rosebud Theatre from November 11 to December 23.

 

The story begins when a man named Kris Kringle gets a job working as a department store Santa Claus at the flagship Macy’s store located at Herald Square and 34th Street, he unleashes waves of goodwill just like the real Kringle, Santa Claus. The story follows one little girl’s belief in Santa.

The play is directed by Paul F. Muir, scenic and lighting director Lauchlin Johnson, costume designer Victoria Krawchuck and sound designer Paul Zacharias.Tim Dixon plays Kris Kringle, Cassia Schramm plays Doris Walker, Jordan Cutbill plays Fred Gaily. Mike Thiessen, Peter Church, Caleb Gordon, and Jesse Peachment are also cast in various accompanying roles.

A preview for the performance will be held on November 10 with an evening performance as the opening night on November 11. Meal seating is from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. with the performance starting at 8 p.m.

On November 19, there will also be a Engage session named The Miracle on 34th Street ‘Who really was St. Nicholas? where participants will have the chance to get up close and personal with some of the artists and discuss the play.

Also this month, there’s a limited amount of time left to catch Rosebud Theatre’s current performance of An Inspector Calls. The play runs until October 29 at Rosebud Theatre. It’s a classic mystery written by J.B. Priestly. An Inspector Calls questions how people of two different classes interact, while unravelling a murder mystery with a twist set in Victorian era England. Celebrations are interrupted when a prosperous family is unexpectedly visited by a mysterious police inspector. He’s there to question the family on the death of a working-class woman, they all seem to know.
